FTester is a tool designed for testing firewalls and Intrusion Detection Systems. It is based on a client/server architecture for generating real TCP/IP connections. The client is a packet generator tool (ftest) while the server (ftestd) is an intelligent network listenercapable of processing and replying to ftest-generated packets. All packets generated by ftest have a special signature encoded in the payload that permits identification.
